Want free, quality hand-cut ice delivered to your bar?

by Tam Allenby

To celebrate the arrival of Loch Lomond Whisky in Australia, The Drink Cabinet is offering venues free, hand-cut ice delivered every week for two months – all you’ve got to do is buy some Scotch.

The Loch Lomond Ice Program sees The Drink Cabinet partner with two of Australia’s most exciting hospitality start-ups – Bare Bones Ice Co. (Sydney) and Navy Strength Ice Co. (Melbourne) – for the two month initiative.

“For a brand new whisky program coming into the market, the Ice Program activation helps Loch Lomond signify that it’s a brand or portfolio that’s a bit more connected to what’s actually happening and what people really want,” The Drink Cabinet director Jason Crawley told BARS&clubs.

“I think the expectation and demand for quality mixed drinks has always been on a sharp rise in Australia, and of course consumer expectation has never been higher – people all know what a Negroni or an Old Fashioned is – but I think it’s important for the on-premise to keep pushing the boundaries.

“People might have a nice set of whiskies at home, but with a big cube of perfectly clear, hand-cut ice, it’s clearly the perfect serve, and won’t overly dilute the drink.”

The Ice Program will run for all of June and July – watch the video below for more info.
