In pictures: Cardea cocktail masterclass

by Molly Nicholas

Last week, Barangaroo cocktail bar Cardea invited industry professionals to take part in a cocktail masterclass. Hosted by master mixologist George Bekarian, guests were given a demonstration on how to make two classic cocktails, a Tommy’s Margarita and a Strabwerry Mojito.

George spoke guests through history of the cocktails while demonstrating how to perfect the recipe, and how to use all of the bar equipment correctly. Each of the attendees were then invited to make their own cocktails, before raising a glass together and tasting the two creations.

Throughout the night, live musicians performed at the front of the luxe speakeasy. As attendees tasted their own cocktails, canapes were served showcasing Cardea’s bar menu. The selection for the evening included half-moon dumplings with shiitake and king oyster mushrooms, potato mille-feuille featuring Australian wagyu crudo and caviar, eggplant bao, and black angus ranger valley short ribs.

Cardea is now offering the cocktail masterclass to groups of the public, available to book here.
